Message for all groups for Nov 17 & 18

Dear M1 students,

1/ Finish the rest of the phrasal verbs (Monday groups). Don't spend too much time on this and use the online websites and dictionaries (Wordreference for example). Devote more time to learn them.

2/ We will have a class discussion on the Brain Drain of Africa. I might collect a sample of homework (the preparation work: main ideas + 10 questions and answers) on a random basis. Those students whose homework is not done and/or forgotten will automatically get a zero.

In case you need it, the entire transcript of this BBC report is now available from the link below. At least, do check it for the vocabulary and expressions I have underlined because they will have to be learned and they will be quizzed some time soon:

3/ The following week will be devoted to the American Elections: should you find something interesting, funny and insightful, do email me.

4/ After that, we will start working of Amartya Sen since some of you "complained" about working Muhammad Yunus, I should add that these "complaints" coming from a handful of students were quite unfair et very weird...If you can, try to do some research on A. Sen in the meantime.

Should you have any questions or suggestions/criticisms, email me: mounirnassor@yahoo.co.in

Best regards,

Mounir Nassor
