Here is the link to the report by Roy Greenslade from the BBC World Service titled "Press for Freedom":

For the transcript and previous documents and reports (use Internet Explorer instead of Mozilla Firefox in case this link does not work and vice versa):
To improve your listening comprehension skills, I strongly recommend that you listen to this report without reading the transcript. Only read the transcript after you have listened to this report twice. Take down extensive notes and remarks for the homework.

For March 09-10:
  • The underlined vocabulary has to be checked and learned (use http://www.wordreference.com/enfr/). We will briefly discuss it next time (March 09 and 10). There will be a vocab quiz some time soon on this report and on the vocabulary in the article on Water by Deepa Mehta.
  • You are all required to prepare 5 insightful, genuine questions and their answers on this report, a sample of homework will be collected and graded. We will use your preparations for class discussions and debates.

Best regards,
