For next Monday (March 30): message for all groups

Dear students,

I could not have class today from 12 pm to 2 pm (Monday groups) because I was prevented from having class by "other" students that were not mine (maybe some of them were mine too...?).

Again, as I said earlier in a previous message (see previous post), this is not to sabotage the strikers and the strike.

My concern is for those weaker sections of our community of students who will have exams and competitive exams ("concours") some time in June and September or later and they are as important as those who will sit the agrégation or CAPES exams.

By the way, those students who prepare the agrégation or the CAPES exams have not been really prevented from having class at La Sorbonne by the strikers, which is just unacceptable and very unfair to those students who, like what happened today, were prevented from having class.

Moreover, we need grades for the semester and the more grades we will have, the less you will have to revise and to catch-up for the June or July sessions if the semester is prolonged to June and July, which is very likely to happen, even though it has not been confirmed by the administration as of yet.

Some of you may disagree with me and I strongly recommend that you email me and voice and explain your disagreement and, again, if you wish so, it will be published on this blog.

As a result, since there could not be class today, students from the Monday groups will have to send summaries (choose two out of the three reports you had to prepare for today) to me by email before next Monday (March 30) 8 am, which is the last deadline.

In case the same incidents take place tomorrow (Tuesday, March 24), students from the Tuesday group will have to do the same work and the deadline is the same (Monday, March 30).

Instructions:
  • 2 summaries (choose two out of the three reports). Double spacing, font 12, around 150 words each summary +/-10%.
  • Deadly mistakes: no plagiarism, capitalization rules, no basic grammar mistakes, no contracted forms.
  • Either RTF format if you attach a file or cut and paste your summaries in your email itself.
  • Deadline: next Monday (March 30) 8am.
  • I will remove 3 points if the work is sent after this deadline. I will not accept papers after Tuesday (March 31). After Tuesday, it will be zero.
Here again is the link to these audio reports you had to prepare for today (in case it does not work, switch to Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox and vice versa):
